Someday I will find my place
And leave the white man’s race
My search has lasted all my life
I am growing old, full of strife
What did they do to change their name
No record, no history, from where they came
When I have cleared this family mystery
They will take their place in Indian History.
Someday I will find my tribe
Our heritage, no longer will we hide
For I am of the proud red mans race
Although I am light and fair of face.
